Suicide is the act of deliberately causing one’s own death. Mental disorders including grief, bipolar disease, autism spectrum diseases, schizophrenia, personality disorders, stress disorders, rebellious beliefs, physical disorders (such as chronic tiredness syndrome) and material use disorders (involving alcohol use sickness and the use of and withdrawal from benzodiazepines) are risk factors.

Some suicides are spontaneous acts due to stress such as from business or educational difficulties, relationship difficulties such as breakups or deaths of close ones, or harassment and bullying.
